Maquette (Red blend)
Napa Valley
$80/bottle
Winemaker Notes
Our 2018 Maquette, is a beautiful “Right-Bank” blend with 20% Cabernet Franc. With this addition the wine hits the palate with deep blackberry, and intense currant flavors, wrapped around bright layers of sweet spice, clove and mint. Beautifully structured and well balanced with an exceptional mid-palate, this wine is ready to enjoy in its youth, but will age wonderfully.
Wine Advocate Review
by Robert Parker
The 2018 Maquette is made up of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The nose offers up graphite-laced blackcurrant with notes of aniseed, dark chocolate, blue flowers and savory spices. The palate is full and grainy, its ripe fruits checked by mineral character, and it finishes very long and spicy. Only 90 cases were made. —94 points

“Maquette”
A term familiar to Alan Peirson in his work as a sculptor; “maquette” is the name given to a small three dimensional model made for a larger scale sculpture.
