Napa Valley

Winemaker Notes

Our 2017 Maquette, is a beautiful “Right- Bank” blend with 20% Cabernet Franc. With this addition the wine hits the palate with deep blackberry, and intense currant flavors, wrapped around bright layers of sweet spice, clove and mint. Beautifully structured and well balanced with an exceptional mid-palate, this wine is ready to enjoy in its youth, but will age wonderfully.

by Antonio Galloni

The 2017 Maquette is soft, supple and nuanced with notes of red cherry, blood orange and spice. Silky tannins give this mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc much of its immediacy and sheer appeal. Franc aromatic overtones are quite expressive today. —93 pts.

A term familiar to Alan Peirson in his work as a sculptor; “maquette” is the name given to a small three dimensional model made for a larger scale sculpture.
