2016
Chardonnay
Russian River Valley

Winemaker Notes

With plenty of fresh fruit up front, our 2016 Chardonnay blend flourishes with notes of white peach, Asian pear and wild spring flowers. There is a light graham cracker spice and subtle hints of candle wax that make the aromatics of this wine very compelling. Pure and silky with an elegant entry and finish, the mouthfeel maintains a surprising weight and concentration on the mid-palate.

VINOUS Review
by Antonio Galloni

The 2016 Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) is a terrific introduction to the year. Baked apple, pineapple, orange peel, wild flowers, chamomile and lightly honeyed notes are all woven together. Silky, open-knit and gracious, the 2016 will drink well upon release. Fruit sources are SMJ, Sophia’s and Charles Heintz. -90 pts.

The Vineyards

Our Russian River Chardonnay is a blend of chardonnay from Sophia’s Vineyard, the Charles Heintz Vineyard and the SMJ Vineyard (clone 809). Typically the Russian River blend expresses itself fully earlier than our appellation wines.
