2016
Maquette
Napa Valley

Winemaker Notes

Our 2016 Maquette, is a beautiful “Right-Bank” blend with 20% Cabernet Franc. With this addition the wine hits the palate with deep blackberry, and intense currant flavors, wrapped around bright layers of sweet spice, clove and mint. Beautifully structured and well balanced with an exceptional mid-palate, this wine is ready to enjoy in its youth, but will age wonderfully.

VINOUS Review
by Antonio Galloni

The 2016 Maquette is Peirson Meyer’s Merlot-based blend from Kenefick Ranch. Bright, floral and nicely lifted, the 2016 is a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years. The inclusion of 20% Cabernet Franc adds brightness and perfume to this attractive, mid-weight red. – 91 pts.

“Maquette”

A term familiar to Alan Peirson in his work as a sculptor; “maquette” is the name given to a small three dimensional model made for a larger scale sculpture.
